What happens when you collect 7 playwrights, 7 directors, and 40 actors, and give them 24 hours to make 7 plays? Absolute theatrical mayhem. The second annual 24 will take place at the Allways Lounge (2240 St. Claude Ave.) on June 8th at 8pm. If you’d like to write, direct, act, or design, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 31! Let us know how you’d like to participate and we’ll do our best to make sure everyone gets to do what they want. There will be a mandatory opening meeting at the Allways Lounge on June 7th at 8pm, at which we will give you all the information you need and, most importantly, decide on a theme for the show. The playwrights will be assigned a certain number of characters and given the night to write a play. In the morning, the plays will be delivered to their directors, who will have the day to produce the play before the 8pm curtain. It is exactly as much fun as it sounds. There is a $5 participation fee, which covers the prop budget. If you’d rather sit back and watch the madness, tickets to the performance will be $7 at the door. See you there!
